Senior cord requirements

Senior cords are available for active HOSA members.  To be eligible for a senior cord, a HOSA member must accumulate a minimum of 40 points in both their junior and senior year, a total of 80 points. Additionally, the member must pay the allotted dues as determined by the chapter.  Points can be made up the next year if a student does not meet the year's requirement, but extra points do not rollover to the next year.

WAYS TO EARN POINTS:

Attending Meetings

A member will receive 5 points per meeting. This is a great opportunity to meet others passionate about the medical field, get competition info, and more!

 Guest Speaker Meeting

Member will receive 5 points per guest speaker meeting. This is a great opportunity to learn more about specific careers within medicine and expand your professional network!

FUNDRAISERS

For our organization to be fully independent, HOSA will run fundraisers that not only fund HOSA, but fund organizations such as the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Of course, HOSA members are imperative for success with these fundraisers and will receive 5 points per event as determined by event.

Community Service

Here at HOSA, we believe healthcare is more than just anatomy or medication. Healthcare is promoting humanitarianism, and by participating in our group volunteering, members can receive from 2-5 points per event.
